Having been born and raised from a Mexican mother and Polish father in and around the city of Chicago, Cynthia Ryba grew up with a larger than life/diverse worldview.

As referenced in an old family photo, Ryba showed signs of having an artistic inclination from an early age. Her 1st recognizable drawing was that of a swan at the age of 3.  Having taken art classes from elementary school through high school, it wasn’t until she took a high school sewing class that she knew fashion was her preferred medium.

Since then Ryba earned a degree in Fashion Design winning several awards along the way such as Best Sportswear Collection from Fashion Group International and Best Senior Collection from the International Academy of Design and Technology. After gaining vital experience on the retail and buying side of the industry working for companies like Nordstrom and Claire’s Accessories, Ryba launched her namesake clothing line in 2009 through the Chicago Fashion Incubator program at Macy’s.

Strong, hard working, multi-tasking women are a constant source of inspiration for Ryba. Having started her clothing line in conjunction with working a full time day job, Ryba understands the hectic, frantic pace of life for a modern woman on a deeper level than most designers. “I know busy.  I understand busy,” says Ryba, “I am constantly challenging myself to develop pieces that are not only artistically inspiring (whether it be the fabric or silhouette), but also make sense in a modern woman’s wardrobe. But my ultimate goal is to make a woman feel good about herself and comfortable in her own skin. And if I can do that through my clothing then I consider myself a success.”

Another cause Ryba feels passionate about is giving back to those in need. A portion of every sale of her clothing is donated to World Vision, an organization that helps fight poverty around the world by sending aid and developing clean sources of water.

Whether it’s building wells to produce clean water in other countries or designing a beautiful garment, Ryba believes we are all here on this earth for a purpose and have unique God-given gifts. It is this belief that is the reason why you’ll find mentions of others who are talented in their field of choice on her company's Facebook page. “I consider myself somewhat of a ‘Professional Appreciator’ and love to share what or who inspires me. I will always look at life with wonder and curiosity, always wanting to discover and learn.” says Ryba.
